My crush for Philippines goes back to 35 years. At the time during a trip to different islands, I had seen how people were smiling and welcoming and yet so poor. Then three years ago, Catherine a friend and sponsor of a girl, told me about CAMELEON. The visit of the website and my phone call did the work : I discovered a human-sized association with a lot of commitment from everyone, an irreproachable ethic and the desire to always do more and better for these children from world’s end. I already felt that I could get involved when my schedule would allow me. I quickly became sponsor of a young girl of 14 years old, and our writings are always of great richness. I receive a lot of love and gratitude, of « God bless you !» and all of her family is highly grateful of my implication. I feel proud to be able to help her build herself and she thanks me often to be good support… What a joy ! Then volunteering for the association started to take up more space in my life: wrapping, flea markets, gift wrap and lately the participation in the 2018 Heroes Race ! My projects ? Being able to be a real support to the CAMELEON team ! From the beginning of the 2018 school year, I will integrate and invest myself in the “Crafts” center to set up with other volunteers sales of Philippine handicraft products! Having participated to Heroes Race 2018, I also want to invest for the organization of the next Heroes Race 2019, both in logistics and in the search for collectors and sponsors… And of course in my heart… go one day meet my godchild!
